POSITION IS: Non-Supervisory
POSITION REPORTS TO: Chief of Police, Sergeant
POSITION OF WORK: This position is officed out of Reserve, Kansas and is located in the Sac and Fox Police Department and performs duties in the protection of life and property and the preservation of order on tribal land.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- This position requires the employee to be 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED certification with the employee being expected to have acquired the necessary information and skills to perform the job within six months in the position or be terminated. Must attend and pass extensive police academy training within one year.
- Must not have been convicted, and not have an expunged conviction, by any state or the federal government or a crime which is a felony or its equivalent under the uniform code of military justice.
- Must be able to pass a background check, physical and complete a psychological examination.
- Must be able to work under adverse working condition relating to public law enforcement. Hazardous and dangerous situations may arise in the apprehension of alleged criminals.
- Must be available for any and all hour/days and be available to rotate shifts if necessary.
- Must have the ability to operate communications equipment, computers, weapons, radar unit, patrol vehicle and related law enforcement equipment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must live in Richardson County Nebraska or Brown County Kansas.
- Must have a valid state driver’s license and a good driving history.

Social Services Case Worker - Sac and Fox Nation- Full Time
Preferred qualifications include 2 years of experience in family services/ case management or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Education in the field of Social Work or related fields a plus. Will consider qualified applicants with work history and experience in case management. This position will include working with Native American families and individuals who are in need of assistance with client resources, referrals, transports to and from appointments. This person will be responsible for assisting in child welfare cases & advocating for the families being served and educating the public.

Tribal Maintenance Technician
The Sac and Fox Nation has an immediate full time opening for the Tribal Maintenance Technician position. The purpose of this non-supervisory position is to provide general maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment owned by Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska in Reserve, KS to include but not limited to the following: Responsible for assisting in a variety of crafts and trades such as carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, small engine repair, concrete work, and grounds maintenance, often independently. Responsible for the caring and feeding of a small herd of buffalo. Basic knowledge of general safety rules for use of tools of the trade. Ability to perform light maintenance/repairs on equipment. Ability to operate tractors and power mowers. Ability to lift 80 pounds or more. Ability to acquire training in crafts and trades if needed/requested. Ability to work beyond 5:30 PM and weekend hours during inclement weather as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Must possess a valid driver's license, have a mechanical aptitude, and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Pay range is $12 to $16 per hour depending on qualifications. Benefits include employer pays 100% of BCBS health insurance, dental, vision, and short term disability insurance for the employee. If selected, applicant will be subject to a drug screen prior to start of employment. We are working four 10 hour days: 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday thru Thursday. There may be instances where needs extends your day beyond 5:30 PM and into Friday or Saturday & Sunday (when necessary to deal with snow removal or feeding the buffalo). Truck Stop & Trad'n Post Cashier
The Sac and Fox Nation has openings for several part time Truck Stop/Trad’n Post Cashiers with cash handling/customer service experience preferred. 3 part time positions are available at the Truck Stop in Powhattan located at 1324 US Hwy. 75 and 1 (one) part time position at the Trad’n Post in Reserve, KS. This position is responsible for performing cashiering transactions accurately with customer service as a focus, as well as maintaining till accuracy. Candidate should have the ability to learn how to accurately complete end of shift reports, stock shelves, clean floors, bathrooms and showers and maintain a clean beverage/snack area. Must be able to work days, nights and weekends. Must have a valid driver’s license. This position requires being able to lift thirty (30) pounds. Mathematical aptitude is a must. Native American preference is given. Tentative pay range of $7.75-$10 per hour depending on qualifications. These positions have no benefits.
